Our client is seeking a highly experienced candidate to create math models that drive the best gaming experience for our slot game player base by creating engaging models that make our games the best in the market. This role is predominantly remote, except one day per month in the Oxford office. 

  • You will have solid analytical and logical cognitive skills, strong technical and non-technical communication skills, as well as excellent problem resolution and technical decision-making abilities gained over at least 2 years of previous slot maths development.
  • You will be providing mathematical models for slot games and so will be experienced in developing in C#.
  • You will have the ability to analyse problems and offer detailed analysis and explanations of the models you produce, validating, simulating (with the help of simulation developers/tools), and sign off mathematical models to ensure they work as intended.
  • You will be comfortable troubleshooting with other engineers on technical implementation of mathematical models and providing answers and explanations to relevant math questions for game designers, engineers, compliance requirements and other departments as necessary.
  • You will develop and explore innovative functionality of slot games, pushing the boundaries of the engine, collaborating with product owner (or game producer) to create best game experience.
  • You will actively work on multiple projects concurrently; therefore, strong multitasking skills are essential.
  • You will be renowned for having a meticulous attention to detail to achieve optimal designs, including math models, game logic, and par sheets.
  • You will test mathematical outcomes to assure quality of the given math model through excel and programming.
  • Your analytical skills will allow you to use advanced mathematical and statistical concepts to construct solutions to business problems, working closely with the game development team throughout the game development life cycle.

 

Essential Skills:

  • 2yrs+ demonstrable experience working as a slot mathematician
  • 2yrs+ C# development experience
  • Relevant university degree in mathematics or statistics
  • A demonstrable understanding of probability
  • An ability to work independently
  • A passion for technology and a desire to remain up to date with the latest skills
  • Great communication skills as a core member of an internationally based team

 

Desirable Skills:

  • CUDA or OpenCL experience
  • Database development experience
  • Experience with pixi.js
