We are working exclusively with our client based in Central Fife, who have a permanent position for a Senior IT 2nd Line Support Engineer to join the Service Desk team.

Responsibilities will include: -

  • Providing Helpdesk support and IT Consultancy knowledge and expertise

  • Maintenance and Installation of Client IT infrastructure

  • The ability to work to a First-Time-Fix framework (up to 2nd line support)

  • The ability to escalate issues to 3rd Line, whilst maintaining ownership of the ticket

  • Field Technical support when required

  • Project Management

  • Contribution to skills analysis and training needs requirements of Technical Team

  • Any other duties associated with the position held

Minimum Experience Requirement(s):

  • At least 5 years of working in a 2nd Line IT Support role is essential.

  • Experience of Operating Systems across different platforms is essential.

  • Experience of Microsoft Hyper-V and VMWare is important

  • Experience with Networking/WAN’s/Telecoms is important.

  • Experience of basic customer training in common applications (e.g. Word, Excel) is an important.

  • Direct experience of team management/project management is important.

  • Experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) would be a distinct advantage.
