Senior Infrastructure Engineer  

Our Aberdeen based client are looking for Senior Infrastructure Engineer. You will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and management of the corporate wide IT infrastructure and all related systems like servers, storage, backup and associated services. This is a hybrid working position where you will be expected to be in the office 1-2 days per week.

The company will provide 3rd line technical support. The Infrastructure Engineer will cover all corporate wide IT locations globally for the provision of infrastructure management and 3rd line support.   

Principal Accountabilities   

  • Responsible for the architecture of the company’s overall Infrastructure Services landscape 

  • Installation/Implementation of technologies and platforms to support the corporate data infrastructure  

  • Maintenance and upgrade of corporate data infrastructure.  

  • Ensure availability of corporate IT technology that support internal business functions, meeting agreed service levels.  

  • Provide security to all infrastructure related systems.  

  • Troubleshoot and remediate issues impacting the operation of the corporate data infrastructure to support the Service Delivery Team.  

  • Management and monitoring of corporate data infrastructure.  

  • Perform changes according to the corporate Change Management procedure.  

  • Documentation of design, operation and troubleshooting of technology platforms and procedures.  

  • Participation in planning and execution of IT projects within budget and time constraints.  

  • Evaluation of new technologies and platforms to determine their applicability to solving business challenges and needs.  

  • Participate in the on-call schedule for off-hours support.  

  • Mentoring and education of Service Delivery personnel when required and where applicable.  

  • Stay current with technological advances  

  Preferred knowledge may include, but is not limited to:  

  • Microsoft Office products  

  • Microsoft server products – on premise and cloud based. 

  • Linux 

  • Systems management and monitoring platforms 

  • Commsvault 

  • Dell server hardware 

  • Citrix VDI and Citrix Cloud 

  • Microsoft Endpoint Manager 

  • F5 BIG-IP 

  Qualifications:  

  • MCSE/MCSA desired or equivalent experience  

  Experience:  

  • Demonstrable relevant experience at a senior level   

  • Experience of a complex IT environment
