Due to continued growth, our Aberdeen client is looking for a Network (Systems) Engineer to join their already established team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to not only be part of an expanding business, but to progress your career within.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations – such as managing tickets and event monitoring tools to ensure timely resolution in line with SLAs. Escalating issues/requests where appropriate and following through to completion to ensure customer satisfaction. Complying with company policies and standards, including Cyber Essentials Plus and GDPR requirements. Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through vendor training, certifications, and industry developments.
Pre-sales & Customer Support – Collaborating with the sales teams. Providing on-site and remote support for both internal and external customers. Diagnosing and resolving faults promptly, using root cause analysis to prevent recurrence. Maintaining clear, proactive communication with the customer throughout the support process. Ensuring service levels consistently meet or exceed agreed SLAs. To accurately log, monitor, and update all support activities in company systems. Participate in an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support and fault resolution.
Network Connectivity - Assisting in the delivery and commissioning of network connectivity services. To Configure, maintain, and support routers, switches, and related network devices. Implementing and managing firewalls across multiple vendors. To design, deploy, and support wireless networks for customers.
Skills Required
- You must currently be located in the Aberdeen region, without any requirements for sponsorship OR visa (including Dependant/Spousal, Post Study etc.)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar technical or network engineering role.
- Strong knowledge of networking principles and solutions.
- Hands-on experience with equipment from Cisco, Juniper, Meraki, Palo Alto, and Ubiquiti (APs, switches, and firewalls).
- Solid understanding of relevant hardware and software technologies.
- Keen interest in developing broader IT knowledge.
- Excellent attention to detail, process discipline, and time management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
- Self-motivated, inquisitive, and collaborative.
- Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or ITIL are advantageous.
- Full, clean UK driving licence required.
